Insulated Worm Composting Bin

Insulated worm composting bin is a particuraly effective way of composting. Worms will transform your organic waste into rich compost that will enhance the growth of your garden plants and make your food much more tasteful and nutricious. To put it very simply, all you need to do is put a handful of worms in a bin along with some water and old newspaper and you will have a whole factory of worms transforming your leftover vegetables into the richest fertilizer that you will be able to use with every singe plant you have.

Red worms are typically used for the proccess and they cost cca 30$ a pound (1000 worms). But keep in mind that the bin shouldn’t be kept too cold or the production of compost will be worse. The size of composting bin depends only upon how much compost are you planning to create. You can use small plastic boxes with holes or larger barrels if your needs are bigger. Worms prefer plastic over oak wood because acid in the wood can damage them. Holes need to be made at the bottom for the water drainage and at the top to provide a constant air supply.

Insulated worm composting bin is a pretty easy method to start with. It can provide you with a fairly decent amount of nutritious home-grown food – but this is only a beginning. Your garden can become even richer if you apply proper techniques.

Why Should You Make A Compost Pile

Garden composting has been know for centuries and probably even more. But as the population has started to grow, we forgot about natural processes and rely solely on industrial production.

Our “supermarket” food has become soaked in pesticides to a point where it is almost poisonous. Luckily, methods from the past weren’t forgotten and we can “create” our own food provided we have the right knowledge.

The purpose of the compost is to enrich the structure of the soil, to provide the ability to store water for the crops and to drain excess water. Compost also releases necessary nutrrients (e.g. nitrogen) into the soil without the need of adding dangerous fertilizers at all! Not only will you save money - you will help to save invironment also.

If you are planning to market your tasteful fruits, composting will give you a rich and profitable garden.
